Magic Hippo – How I Magically Became Relaxed, Calm, and Fearless

We humans experience many different emotions throughout our lifetime. Some make us feel great while others can totally ruin our day and, at worst, even hold us back in life from achieving our dreams, visions, and goals.

All of us are different with our own set make up of brain chemistry, genetics and life experiences but we all experience the debilitating crushing feelings of nervousness and pure panic from time to time. I’m willing to bet even James Bond knows what it feels like!

The sweaty clammy hands, your heart pounding hard against your chest as if to explode, the racing thoughts, nausea and reign of pure terror.

Anxiety!

It’s a very useful emotion when in the face of a real threat or danger. It activates your adrenaline and gets your body ready to either fight or run as fast as possible and escape harms way.

But what about when it rears its ugly head when you’re about to give a presentation in front of a crowd, or finally go on that big date, or even make that important business phone call which can mean the difference in you ending up on the streets as a hopeless bum or not?

Those are the moments where fear and anxiety is nothing short of an annoying pesky sensation that can really hinder your progress in life. If you want to be a winner, you need a way to calm your nerves or work around your anxiety to keep moving forward.

Now, there are many ways to go about combating anxiety or dealing with it in an emotionally healthy way which we won’t get into about because that would be off topic. But since you are already on this site, you know that Kratom is very useful when it comes to relaxation and anxiety relief.

But there is one strain in particular that has stood out from the rest when it comes to anxiety…

Magic Hippo (Java / Red Sundanese Kratom)

So, what is Sumatra Red? (Previously “Magic Hippo”).

Magic Hippo (Java / Red Sundanese) Kratom PowderSumatra Red is a limited rare strain that can only be found in the small western part of Indonesia, home to the native Sundanese people.

Although it’s one of the highest quality slow strains available (at least in my opinion), it will never reach the level of popularity and recognition it deserves, simply because there isn’t enough of this strain to go around.

How I Took Magic Hippo to the Next Level

I received “Magic Hippo” in a small sample bag along with all the other Kratom strains that I had ordered from Happy Hippo Herbals. I actually never placed an order for “Magic Hippo” but it goes to show you the level of customer service and class that Happy Hippo Herbals have. They don’t just have some of the highest quality Kratom for sale; they offer the shopping experience to match.

They always include an extra small sample bag of a strain you didn’t order along with a beautifully hand written “Thank-You” note which always makes me feel all warm and special inside.

Anyway, I quickly tore open the small bag and decided it was time to burn it and see what type of aroma it gives off. I had already read great fantastic reviews about this particular strain so I was very excited to try it.

To make it as potent as possible I took  2-3 pills of Magnesium Taurate about 45 minutes before I planned to burn this stuff.

But I didn’t stop there…

This time I wasn’t going to simply Toss n’ Wash my Kratom. No I had a different plan.

I decided to make a tea with it, a method I’ve mentioned here. While the tea was boiling I added about two caps of lemon juice because the acid in the lemon can help extract the alkaloids found in Kratom and make the aroma much more powerful.

Note: Kratom is not approved to be consumed by the FDA. This tea is simply to be smelled so you can enjoy the aroma.

Then It Happened…

It had been maybe half an hour since I had burned this Sundanese Kratom when I found myself outside with my friends heading over to a night club.

Now I usually won’t recommend using a “Slow” strain when going out to a place such as a night club where you actually need high amounts of energy if you want to bounce around the walls and be the life of the party.

But… Magic Hippo was different.

Sure, it didn’t provide any additional energy. But it felt like a nice comfortable blanket had fallen over my head and my heart rate was surprisingly slowed down.

My thoughts were clearer and had completely slowed down. I felt pretty damn good.

I was fully present and there in the “now”, fully immersed in what was going on. It didn’t have a sort of “dirty” aroma that can come from burning slow strains.

Usually slow strains are notorious for their overwhelming relaxation accompanied by the sluggish feeling.

There was no sluggish feeling with this strain. Nada. Nope!

Everything just seemed so much more clearer and the annoying little voice in my head had completely slowed down which allowed me to fully take in my present experience one moment at a time.

I couldn’t get anxious even if I tried. Even when certain anxious thoughts floated by, they didn’t register the same with my brain or induce any feeling of fear.  It was almost as if fear was a foreign language which I no longer knew how to speak.

This was the closest experience I could ever get to being and feeling “fearless”.

I’m sure I don’t need to mention that I had a pretty good time and ended up going back to my house with a cute girl  in my car… you know, just so I can show her my cool collections of Pokemon cards.

The Perfect Magic Hippo Dosage

If you are going to make a tea with it like I did there, then I’d recommend you use 5-7 grams for optimal results.

If you are going the traditional route which is the Toss n’ Wash method, then you’d treat it the same as any strain and start off with 2 grams then add more after an hour if it’s necessary. This is assuming you have never tried this strain before and haven’t found the “sweet spot” that works for you yet. If you already have a “sweet spot” for other slow strains, say 4 grams, go with that.

I’ll Wrap Up This Magic Hippo Review with Some Tips

Magic Hippo (red sundanese / java) Kratom is a great strain for consistently putting you in a good mood, relieving pain and reducing anxiety. To enhance it’s effects and ensure this consistency, consider the following:

  • You can add lemon to your tea while it’s still boiling to make the strain much more stronger. This applies for any Kratom strain, not just Sumatra Red.
  • Magnesium Taurate is a great supplement to have on hand to enhance the anxiety relief/relaxation benefits of Kratom.
  • Make sure you never burn the same strain more than once a week to avoid tolerance build up.

Other than that, you can use the Java / red Sundanese Kratom that is Magic Hippo, to help you do anything you want. 😉
