If you go down an alley somewhere, where a bunch of smokers are hanging out and ask them if they’ve ever heard of the word “Bali”, they’ll probably roll their eyes into their head, think really hard, and swear they have heard that name somewhere before.
And they have.
Go to any decent smoke shop in your city, and you’ll usually find random herbs and incense lined along the register including small bags that say “Bali Kratom”.
This stuff is usually pretty useless (something I’ll get to) but it can also be purchased online from reputable vendors such as Happy Hippo Herbals with their Bali Elite Green (Top Shelf Bali).
So, What is Bali Kratom?
Bali is a slow Kratom strain that is mainly grown in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, made widely available all over the world and is the most commonly resold strain on the market. It’s dime a dozen and won’t be going extinct anytime soon. In fact, there was a time when Kratom stores only sold different types of Bali Kratom powder and the occasional Maeng Da strain.
Since it’s one of the cheapest strains and easiest to produce, quality can definitely deteriorate and buying this strain from a trusted vendor becomes even more important.
Don’t believe me?
Go ahead and buy that suspicious looking black baggie covered with cliche ghetto logos that has “Bali Kratom” written all over it from your local smoke shop. I guarantee you it’s almost always bunk. Either it won’t work or you’ll need a really huge dose to get even a subtle effect, or you’ll just end up with adverse side effects such as a headache and vomiting. Nice, huh?
That would be your biggest mistake when trying Bali.
Quality Bali Kratom, such as Top Shelf Hippo Bali, on the other hand, is awesome.
Effects: What Can I Expect?
You will become invincible, strong as Hercules, fast as lightning, and will become a God on Mount Olympus.
What are the effects of Bali Kratom?
Realistically, here are some of the actual effects you can expect after a successful burn of Bali Kratom:
1. Relaxation/Reduction in Anxiety
If you ask me how Bali feels, I’d have to say it’s a “background strain”. It’s very subtle compared to other strains and doesn’t come with a strong overwhelming sedative feeling. Sure, very high doses can ultimately achieve that if that’s your goal, but this strain is not made for that.
However, you will notice that anxiety will simply not be there when it should be. You will just feel “normal” and then later on after your aroma has worn off, you’ll say “Hey wait a minute I didn’t feel anxious in the slightest bit today”.
There is also definitely the feeling of a subtle relaxing sensation. Subtle, but it’s there. It’s as subtle as trying to taste water. There is a certain taste to it but nothing too strong and you just can’t quite put your finger on it.
2. Pain Relief
Alright, this is what Bali is actually really popular for. One of the things people use Kratom for besides the mood enhancing benefits is genuine pain relief.
Bali Kratom works great for this and makes for a really great alternative to having to take dangerous pharmaceutical pain killers for your chronic pain and instead you can use a very safe, healthy plant filled with antioxidants.
3. Appetite Suppression
This is actually a by-product of a lot of Kratom strains since they tend to slightly suppress your appetite. One of the reasons Thailand farmers loved Kratom is because it blunted their appetite and gave them a focused energy to work 12+ hours a day without complaining much.
Although Bali Elite Green won’t give you the surge of energy like “Fast” strains will, it will definitely suppress your appetite if you’re looking forward to having a relaxing day with your friends or even doing some laid back office work without having to eat like a pig every couple minutes.
It’s perfect for those who want to lose weight and have trouble overeating past their calorie limits for the day. Another huge point for Kratom, and maybe another compelling reason to jump on the Kratom train if you haven’t already.
Dosage: How Much to Use?
As with any Kratom strain, there is no right “cookie cutter” dose for everyone. It all comes down to experimentation and finding your “sweet spot” and this is no different with Bali. See How to Dose Kratom.
That said, you should notice that anything from 1-2.5 grams of Bali Kratom will produce a very light effect, and 2-4 grams would be considered a pretty moderate dose. Anything up to 6 grams of a high quality Bali like Happy Hippo’s is considered a high dose and anything even higher will potentially start to produce side effects.
Since my tolerance has built up a little for Bali Elite Green, this no longer holds true for me and it usually takes about 6 grams to hit my “sweet spot”. But for those inexperienced with this strain, that guideline should be close to accurate.
Now I know I have probably been beating this dead horse for too long, but I’ll say it again and again:
Where you buy your Kratom from really matters. If you have read any stories online or been on Kratom forums where the user is complaining that Kratom is not working or he/she had adverse side effects, they usually bought it from some shady unreliable vendor.
So to Wrap Up This Bali Kratom Review…
That about sums up this review of Bali, hopefully it’s given you a good idea of what to expect.
It’s one of the most common strains found in the Kratom world and pretty cheap to get. Bali Kratom effects are perfect for pain relief, anxiety, and even appetite suppression if you want to get rid of those man handles. Just make sure you get it from a trusted vendor and you’ll enjoy the experience.
I’d personally rate it a 4/5. It’s a great strain but I usually love strains that produce stronger effects. At the end of the day, that all comes down to personal preference though.
